WASP NEST TREATMENT OLDHAM

Our approach

WASP NEST TREATMENT OLDHAM

Wasps build their nests in various locations. Unfortunately that includes human dwellings. Most common areas being eaves and roof space of buildings, walls, sheds and garages. Sometimes wasp nests are found in areas easily accessible and fully exposed such as garages and sheds. It can also be found in cavities and hidden areas such as eaves, walls and grounds. When Oldham wasp nest removal technicians arrive at your property the first thing they will look for is the entrance to the nest. If the nest is inside of a cavity you’d often notice wasps entering and exiting through a hole or gap. Our technicians can locate the nests by looking for the traffic of wasps entering and exiting the hole/gap.

Once the nest is located...

Once the nest or the entrance to the nest is located, Oldham wasp nest treatment and removal technicians can then commence the treatment work. We treat the entrance of the nest with insecticide in a form of dust/powder. The insecticide we use can only be obtained by professionals and is not available to the public. We pump the insecticide into the entrance of the nest using specialist pressure applicators and the poison often reaches the nest immediately. If it doesn’t reach the nest immediately then the returning forager wasps will carry it into the nest and that will contaminate and kill the entire nest quickly. We use specialist tools and extendable equipment to ensure that job is done first time.

After the completion of the job all wasps in the nest will die within a few hours. You’ll often notice activities dying down a couple of hours after treatment, however it might take up to 24hrs for the nest to be fully disabled as foraging wasps will continue to return to their nest and will also die quickly as they come in contact with the insecticide. It’s common that wasps will get agitated during treatment and may pose risk to people and pets nearby, so we always recommend that you keep windows and doors shut during the treatments and the immediate few hours after.

In most cases it’s not necessary or even possible to physically remove the wasp nest. In fact it’s best left behind. Treated nest will act as a trap for all remaining wasps that are out foraging during treatment. Returning wasps will die as they enter the nest. Wasps never reuse an old nest. Queen wasps build nests from scratch every year and will never occupy an old nest. Therefore the physical removal of the treated nest is not necessary however if it’s alarming for the customer we can remove it at a later date if accessible.

Important!

If you find a wasp nest we strongly advise not to approach it or try to get rid of it yourself, most of the insecticides available in shops for public use will not work as well as the professional products we carry but not only that it will also aggravate the wasps and can result in an attack.
